Dutch Heritage Gardens Poinsettia Open House 2014

Dutch Heritage Gardens VW bus photo boothWe had an awesome time out at Dutch Heritage Gardens‘ annual poinsettia open house, and are already looking forward to next year. There is something pretty incredible about spending a cold, windy day inside a bright, warm greenhouse filled with colorful poinsettias. We couldn’t stop smiling. Seeing all the greenhouse staff busily moving the beautiful plants from here to there, getting them ready for shipments and for the weekend’s guests made it feel like Santa’s workshop.

To enhance the poinsettia shopping experience, the Photo Love Bus photo booth was set up offering holiday photo booth sessions. Of course, the red bus was amazing with the poinsettia theme! We had a festive background and a table full of silly holiday props. The families who gave it a whirl had loads of fun, and ended up with some terrific family photos for their Christmas cards.

Denver Colorado face painterWhile we were there, we met, Sean Hyatt, a face painter and balloon artist. We seem to meet face painters wherever we go, and Sean is definitely one of the best! He’s available for your party, and you can check out his site for all the info.

Dutch Heritage Gardens is a commercial greenhouse about 45 minutes from Colorado Springs, and opens their doors to the public just two times per year, for their extremely popular spring open house, and the also popular, but much more mellow poinsettia house.
