The Mining Exchange Hotel | Colorado Springs Wedding and Event Venue

I recently had the opportunity to tour the event facilities at The Mining Exchange hotel with Catering Sales Manager Abbey Smith. Abbey handles all weddings at the hotel, and would be a delight to work with.

One of the things I find the most striking about the hotel is how it feels like it’s been there forever. While the buildings are OLD, the hotel itself is new, but feels like it’s been entrenched in the Colorado Springs community for years.

You’d never know it looking at the hotel from the street, but The Mining Exchange has four ballrooms, each with a unique character. My very favorite parts are the outdoor spaces, including a beautiful courtyard, which has an old European or New Orleans feel to it, and a balcony patio lined with flower boxes. These spaces will be even more gorgeous come spring when the flowers are in bloom.

As you make your way through the venue, you’ll find this design repeated in the carpet and in the courtyard gate. It was even the inspiration for the hotel’s logo!

Downtown Colorado Springs Art Deco venue

The Gold Room has a very Art Deco flair, with a look that’s very unexpected in Colorado Springs. Here’s the stage, making this spot great for concerts and other events with live entertainment.

Another view of the Mining Exchange’s Gold Room, this one from the balcony overlooking the dance floor and stage. The Gold Room is the one ballroom at The Mining Exchange that would accommodate our VW bus photo booth outside the entrance. The other ballrooms would require one of our more traditional or open air photo booths.

Upstairs ballroom with exposed brick and fantastic attached large balcony overlooking the courtyard.

The courtyard is absolutely my favorite part of the whole place, but my photos don’t even begin to do it justice. Flower pots and flower boxes are just waiting for spring. An evening event with the overhead strings of lights twinkling would be pretty magical.

Love the “Private Alley” sign painted on the brick wall in the courtyard!

Mining Exchange paintings

Paintings throughout The Mining Exchange were commissioned and painted by a single artist over the course of 18 months. You’ll see these pieces throughout the venue.
